Katahdin Sheep

Katahdin sheep are a hair sheep, which means they shed their hair naturally and do not need to be sheared. This also means that their meat is milder in flavor since they have less lanolin than wool sheep.

Katahdin hair sheep are hardy, adaptable, low maintenance sheep that produce superior lamb crops and lean, meaty carcasses. Katahdin sheep are medium-sized and efficient, doing well on a variety of management systems. Our ewes lamb easily and have exceptional mothering ability, consistently producing and caring for multiple lambs at a time. Katahdin sheep are ideal for pasture lambing and grass fed operations and our breed stock have been proven producers.
